SOME residents from the mountain barangays of Manipis and Tunghaan had requested for water rations from the Talisay City Government for their daily use after they experienced water shortage due to the hot weather.
Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, however, said that the city’s water tanker was sent to Carcar City to provide water to Talisay’s delegation to the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Cviraa).
Instead, Gullas asked the Bureau of Fire (BFP) Talisay to lend their fire trucks to distribute water to the two barangays.
Lawyer Alvin Torion, fire marshal of BFP Talisay, said their fire trucks are ready to deliver water to the two barangays, but he noted that this should only be used for laundry and bathing and not for drinking. (BBT, TPT)
