THE City Health Office (CHO) of San Fernando continues its barangay medical mission in this city to reach out to less privileged people who are in need of basic medical care and treatment.
The barangay medical mission which started on April 12 aims to cater the total population of the city.
“Ang isang layunin natin ay ilapit ang City Health Office sa mga lahat ng mamamayan ng San Fernando para rin malaman nila kung ano yung mga services na ino-offfer ng city health office,”said Roben Ledda, Jr, medical officer of CHO.
Some residents of Barangay Lingsat in San Fernando City, La Union flocked to receive medical assistance initiated by the City Health Office on April 14.
At least 750 individuals from two barangays, namely: Poro and Lingsat were provided services such as medical consultation, PhilHealth profiling for the Konsulta Program, and provision of prescription medicine to the residents of the city.
The first batch of medical mission was held at Barangay Poro on April 12 to April 13 which catered residents from Purok Tawi-Tawi and Barangay Lingsat on April 14 which served residents from Purok 5 to 7.
“As of this time, nakakapag-provide din tayo ng laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood typing,” said Ledda.
The same services will also be provided to residents in barangays Catbangen and Sevilla which will be further scheduled.
The CHO said its workforce will continue to carry out its barangay-to-barangay vaccination drive called "suyod" to identify unvaccinated residents and assess their health condition.
Meanwhile, a resident from Barangay Lingsat thanked the CHO for the free medical services she received.
"Nagpapasalamat po ako dahil hindi na namin kailangan pang bumiyahe para magpatingin sa doktor," she said. (PR)
