THE Bacolod City Police Station 3 is looking into illegal drugs as the possible motive behind the killing of a former inmate while another was wounded at Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, on April 24.

Police identified the fatality as Edsil Mike Diaz, 26, a resident of Barangay Granada.

Injured was John Divinagracia, 26, a resident of Barangay Mandalagan.

Major Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3, said Diaz and Divinigracia were inside the computer shop when an unidentified man entered and shot Diaz.

She said Diaz sustained a gunshot wound in the chest, while Divinagracia was hit by a stray bullet in the feet.

The victims were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional, but Diaz did not survive.

Vargas said Diaz was released from jail through plea bargaining, and they were informed that he had a debt for illegal drugs.

She said they already have a person of interest, and the investigation is still ongoing.*
