NEARLY P5 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by police in two separate operations in Talisay City and Cebu City over the last two days.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, the City Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested a high-value individual at the Fernandez Compound in Banawa, Barangay Guadalupe.
The suspect was identified as Ervin Jay Lacno, a resident of Sitio Villa Manga, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
At least 650 grams of substance believed to be shabu with a street value of more than P4.4 million were discovered from his possession.
At 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, the Talisay City Police Station detained two drug personalities in Sitio San Salvador, Barangay Tangke.
Marlito Yutrago Oral alias Entoy, 36, an e-bike rider, and Melissa Cabanes Petalcorin, 47, a painter, were both taken into custody.
They both reside in Sitio Alumnus, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
Seized from them were 50 grams of alleged shabu worth P340,000.
The seized pieces of evidence were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit for an examination.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Cebu City Field Unit and the City Mobile Force Company of the Cebu City Police Office nabbed two most wanted persons by virtue of warrants of arrest.
Those arrested were Marlon Arcayan, a resident of Sitio Tawagan 1, Barangay Sirao, and Andrew Pelayo Arnado, of Barangay Kamputhaw.
They are facing charges for acts of lasciviousness and syndicated estafa, respectively.
Police Regional Office (PRO 7) Director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin commended his men and gave them instructions to step up their anti-criminality efforts.
“In strict adherence to the thrust of our CPNP, PGen. Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr., PRO 7 will launch a series of aggressive intel-driven anti-drug operations as part of a comprehensive fight against illegal drugs,” Aberin said. (AYB/TPT)
