Suspected NPA member killed in Bohol encounter

A SUSPECTED member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was killed in an encounter with the government troops in Antequera, Bohol around 6 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023.

According to Antequera Police Chief, Captain Johnrey Digao, the exchange of gunfire occurred in Barangay Tabo-an of the said municipality.

The Philippine National Police received reports that the military forces responded to the area along the boundary of San Isidro town and Antequera after knowing the presence of five armed men believed to be NPA members there.

A .45 pistol was recovered from the deceased, who was only identified by his alias Jasper.

While a manhunt is being conducted for the victim's four companions who escaped by sneaking through the trees, the authorities are still determining the victim's true identity. (AYB, TPT)
