THREE-division world champion Johnriel Casimero is out to destroy World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global super bantamweight champion Fillipus Nghitumbwa tonight, May 13, 2023 at the Okada Manila Hotel and Casino in a fight that could dictate his future in the division.
Casimero was at the peak of his career from 2019 to 2021 after an impressive streak in the bantamweight division. However, he was stripped of his WBO bantamweight belt last year after two botched title defenses against mandatory challengers.
The 35-year-old Casimero had his career rejuvenated after former world champion-turned promoter Masayuki Ito drew interest in the brash fighter and signed him to a promotional contract with Treasure Boxing Promotion.
Casimero is 32-4 with 22 knockouts, while Nghitumbwa is 12-1 with 11 knockouts.
