A TOMBSTONE (lapida) maker in Barangay Carreta cemetery in Cebu City was shot dead outside the Catholic graveyard past 9 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

The victim, Theresa Zuniega, 43, a resident of the said place, died on the spot.

According to Police Major Eraño Regidor, chief of Mabolo Police Station 4, Zuñega was sitting near the flower stall when the motorcycle-riding gunman approached her and shot her multiple times.

The victim's mother, Leonora, told SunStar Cebu that her daughter told her last week that she had received a death threat, but she did not mention any specific individuals.

It was learned that Theresa lived with another man after her husband died last year.

But her live-in partner was also arrested this year for illegal drugs.

Leonora claimed that she had already told her daughter to prioritize her six children and avoid tagging along with her boyfriend.

In fact, before she was murdered, the victim was advised not to go to the cemetery, but she ignored them saying she would do business to earn money to post bail for her husband.

In fact, the victim was warned not to go to the cemetery before she was killed, but she disregarded the warning because she said she would work to earn money to post bail for her husband.

The gunman is now being hunted by the Mabolo policemen. (BBT, TPT)
