ANOTHER shipping firm, OceanJet, indicated interest in operating its vessel from Liloan port to Poro port in Camotes Islands.

OceanJet officials headed by Bryan Lua met with Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Capitol and informed her about their intention.

The vessel company is set to conduct a “sea trial” for its fastcraft on Wednesday, May 17.

Its 350-passenger ferry can sail between Liloan and Camotes in one hour and 30 minutes at a speed of 22 knots or 40 kilometers per hour.

After the "sea trial," the shipping company will give the governor an update of its sea trial on Thursday, May 18.

Aside from OceanJet, businessman Paul Rodriguez of Super Shuttle Roro also expressed interest to ply the Liloan-Camotes route.

The Vallacar Transit, operator of Ceres buses, is also getting a franchise from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, to travel to Camotes on board the roll-on, roll-off (roro) vessel. (PAC/TPT)
