4 ‘sleeping cops’ in Cebu City transferred to Siquijor, Negros Oriental

POLICE Regional Office (PRO 7) Director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin has ordered the transfer of four Cebu City policemen who were found sleeping while on duty to Siquijor and Negros Oriental, respectively.

According to Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Chief Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, two of the erring officers from Abellana Police Station who were caught on camera dozing off inside a patrol car on General Maxilom Avenue have been transferred to Siquijor, while the other two, who belonged to the CPPO's Mobile Patrol Unit and were also caught on camera dozing off, have been transferred to the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.

Both videos later went viral after being posted on the social media.

“Mando gyud ni sa atong regional director para dili na gyud mo utro ang kanang atong mga personnel nga mag relax during their official tour of duty,” Dalogdog said.

(This is an order of our regional director to avoid a repeat of the incident and to prevent the personnel from relaxing during their official tour of duty).

In line with this, Dalogdog issued a directive to all his station commanders and special unit heads that they will be included in the relieve order if their subordinates will commit a similar offense.

Last Saturday, May 13, the CCPO ordered all vehicles assigned to the Mobile Patrol Units of the different police stations to have their window tints removed to let the public know what the police are doing inside the car. (AYB, TPT)
