THE World Mission Society Church of God-Cagayan de Oro, in support of the Philippine Red Cross Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter, has organized a blood donation campaign to celebrate the Passover on May 7, 2023.

Church members, neighbors and police personnel from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-10 participated in the 1,155th Worldwide Blood Drive that was held in the activity area at the second flood of Limketkai Mall.

The event started at 10 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m.

The activity, which was conducted in support of the Philippine Red Cross Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter, was also attended by PRO-10 Director Brigadier General Lawrence Coop, City Councilor George Goking and Misamis Oriental Provincial Board Member Princess Emano.

The World Mission Society Church of God has been leading the way to heal the body and mind of its neighbors. For years, it hosts blood drives around the world to help people in danger of losing their lives due to blood shortages.

"Our World Mission Society Church of God has been conducting blood drive events to carry out the teachings of Jesus Christ in the bible. There are so many people who are dying because of shortage of blood so in order to save people who are dying because of blood shortage, our church members carry out the teachings of Christ as we share the blood through this blood drive event," Andrew Kim, the overseer of World Mission Society Church of God, said.

Goking, for his part, supported the blood drive, expressing his gratitude to those who participated in the event and to the World Mission Society Church of God, saying that their efforts are commendable because blood is life. (SunStar Cagayan de Oro)
