SAN SIMON - Some 1,400 college students in this town yesterday received financial assistance from the local government here.
Mayor Abundio “Jun” Punsalan Jr. said each students received P4,000 cash during the payout.
The mayor added that the budget for the scholarship program increases every year to help more students finish school.
He said no maintaining grade is required to qualify for the program to ensure that all students will get equal opportunity.
