Rape suspect nabbed in Palawan

THE fifth most wanted person in Carcar City who is facing a rape charge was arrested on May 12, 2023.

The suspect, a 42-year-old resident of Barangay Iraan, Rizal town in Palawan, was nabbed by Carcar City police and personnel of Rizal Municipal Police Station and 4th Platoon 1st Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company in Iraan, Palawan.

SunStar Cebu is withholding the name of the suspect to protect the minor victim, a niece of his live-in partner.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ardioleto Cabagnot, chief of Carcar City Police Station, told Superbalita Cebu that the suspect was nabbed through an arrest warrant issued by Judge Ernesto E. Narido of Branch 11-FC, 7th Judicial Region, Carcar City.

The warrant was dated March 31, 2023. No bail has been recommended.

Cabagnot said that based on their investigation, the suspect raped his live-in partner’s niece in Carcar City in 2021 after Super Typhoon Odette.

When a rape case was filed against the suspect, he escaped to Palawan.

The suspect denied the allegations against him. (GPL/LMY)
