DOH lauds top performing LGUs on ‘Chikiting Ligtas’ campaign

IN ITS third week of the “Chikiting Ligtas” campaign, the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH WVCHD) lauded the local government units in the region that achieved high vaccination coverage of children under five years old.

Based on the unofficial quick count of the DOH WVCHD as of May 18, Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental was able to achieve 101 percent vaccination coverage, inoculating 9,681 children aged 9-59 months with measles and rubella vaccines, and 8,217 children 0-59 months with oral polio vaccines.

Other areas in Negros Occidental that achieved high MR vaccination accomplishment included Murcia with 92.61 percent and Silay City with 91.78 percent.

More than 6,709 children out of 7.244 were vaccinated in Murcia and 10,382 out of 11,312 were inoculated in Silay City.

In Iloilo province, the municipalities of Lemery (95.69 percent), Miag-ao (94.95 percent), and Sara (84.49 percent) achieved high MR vaccination coverage.

More than 2,462 children out of the 2,573 target were vaccinated in Lemery; 5,355 out of 5,640 in Miag-ao; and 3,710 out of 4,391 in Sara.

For Guimaras, the top LGUs on MR vaccination are San Lorenzo (74.93 percent), Sibunag (73.48 percent), and Jordan (70.53 percent).

More than 1,710 children out of the 2,282 target were vaccinated in San Lorenzo; 1,424 out of 1,938 in Sibunag; and 2,226 out of 3,156 in Jordan.

In Capiz, leading the MR accomplishment are Sapian (91.70 percent), Ma-ayon (77.21 percent), and Ivisan (71.65 percent). More than 1,977 children out of the 2,156 target were vaccinated in Sapian; 2,473 out of 3,203 in Ma-ayon; and 1,736 out of 2,423 in Ivisan.
