CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pre-schoolers from the towns of Guagua and Sasmuan received copies of the workbook published by the provincial government of Pampanga.
Provincial officials distributed the Aklat ni Delta Bulilit Learning Workbooks to some 2,315 preschoolers aged three to four years old.
Second District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab said the initiative was initiated so that parents will no longer have to buy books.
She added that the program will encourage them to send their children to study at day-care centers for their children.
"Kung may gastos kasi, nadi-discourage sila. Pero kung tutulungan mo sila, kahit paano'y mahihikayat sila. Tulad nitong mga libro na alam nating makatutulong sa preparasyon ng mga bata sa kanilang pagpasok sa elementarya, ipo-provide ito ng ating butihing governor, Gov. Dennis "Delta" Pineda sa lahat ng eskwelahan sa Pampanga," ani Board Member Cayabyab.
The book, which is named after Governor Dennis Pineda’s nickname, is a supplementary tool that aims to support the education of daycare students.
The book covers a 40-week curriculum patterned after the Early Childhood Care and Development Council guidelines.
The book was crafted through the help of some child specialists and selected child development workers from the province and technical assistance from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
The officials also distributed food packs during the event.
Pampanga Second District Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon and Sajid Khan Eusoof were also present during the event.
