AT LEAST three persons engaged in illegal cockfighting were arrested in Sitio Pansang, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023.
The Inayawan police headed by Major Remon Jake Aguho conducted the raid after receiving a call from a concerned citizen over the ongoing illegal cockfight games in the area.
According to reports, the caller could not stand the noise caused by the gambling activities.
The suspects were identified as Romualdo Canillo Naag Jr., 30, Jay Auditor Juanillo, 22, and Herbert Cabalan Lopez, 35, both electric bicycle (e-bike) drivers and residents of the said place.
Seized from them were an injured rooster, cockfighting paraphernalia and P350 in bet money.
The suspects will be facing charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law. (BBT, TPT)
