A SENIOR Citizen, tagged as top 4 most wanted person, was arrested in a manhunt operation six days after an arrest order was issued against him in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Police Colonel Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the arrested suspect as Agustin Aranas Santiago, 63, a resident of Salipyasin village, Kabasalan town.

Mallo said Santiago was arrested at around 5:20 p.m. Monday, May 22, in his residence in Salipyasin village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Mallo said that Santiago is listed as the top 4 most wanted person in Kabasalan and has pending warrant of arrest for the crime of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The arrest order with no recommended bail was issued against Santiago by a court of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The accused was placed under the custody of the Kabasalan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
