VARIOUS processed pork products were pulled out from an establishment in Barangays Lapasan and Kasuwagan following a recent inspection conducted by the City Veterinary Office Meat Inspection Division.
According to the City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis, the pork products were from Cebu province, an African Swine Fever (ASF)-affected area.
The two establishments violated the Executive Order No. 14032-2021 which imposes a temporary total ban on the entry of hogs, all fresh/frozen pork meat and processed pork products coming from Luzon and other identified ASF-affected areas in the country and abroad.
Asis said the City Government has not relaxed its campaign against ASF, especially that Cagayan de Oro is already "on teh road to recovery" from ASF.
The Meat Inspection Division also reminded business owners engaged in meat business to visit and consult the City Veterinary Office for more information on the existing guidelines imposed by the City Government.
