David Can’s passion for art began at a young age, when he first discovered his love for sketching and creating. As he grew older, he devoted countless hours to honing his craft and skills.
At the age of 25, David’s talent and dedication have led him on an exciting journey of self-expression and creativity where he has been able to bring his art to life on a different kind of canvas.
In August 2019, David took a leap of faith and quit his job to pursue his passion for art full-time, but he didn’t stop there. David wanted to explore other avenues for expressing his creativity, so he thought of placing his art on clothes, making the decision to start a clothing brand.
With dedication and hard work, he learned the ins and outs of starting a clothing brand, from production processes to management. His perseverance paid off, and dav.originals was born.
In the early stages of the brand, David faced battles with doubt and fear of failure, as he was operating solo. However, with time, the right people came along to support the brand, and it became a snowball effect from there.
David initially started selling products through online orders, but hard work and dedication enabled him to take the brand to the public with pop-up shops.
On March 25, 2023, the brand had its first pop-up and grand launch to the public, followed by the second on April 30.
David looked back on his journey and realized that everything he has been through has not gone to waste. He believes that it’s all about service to the people and inspiring them to create a difference. A realization and lesson for all that everything happens for a reason.
David said: “The brand is all about being an experience, where people not only buy and wear the products but also understand the message and meaning behind the designs.”
Highlighting that each design is carefully crafted to not only look aesthetically pleasing, but also to convey a message or a story.
Through dav.originals, David is making an impact and changing the way people think about fashion and creativity through art. Showing and proving to people that it is possible to be successful and pursue your passions at the same time.
