FOUR members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity were arrested after reportedly mauling a man who was staring at them as they were swimming at Cambuhawe Spring in Barangay Cambuhawe, Balamban town, midwest Cebu past 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023.

The suspects were identified as Kyle Jake Basbas Abadinas, 22; Brandon Jay Saga Pacquiao, 21; Bernie Sarsalejo Jr., 22; and Kenneth Basbas Abadinas.

Police identified the victim as Agripino Seblos Mongosera, 18.

Both the victim and the suspects hail from Balamban.

The first three suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation, while Kenneth, who was accompanied by his mother, turned himself in to the police at noon Friday, May 26.

Lieutenant Colonel Glenn Hife, chief of Balamban Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that the victim was rushed to the hospital after sustaining bruises on his body.

According to Hife, Kenneth and Mongosera were both swimming in the pool with their friends.

But Kenneth allegedly got mad when he caught the victim staring at him.

"Nasuko ni Si Kenneth kay gitutokan daw siya sa biktima. Wala maka-uyon sa pagsigeg tan-aw, iyang gisumbag," Hife said.

(Kenneth got angry because the victim was staring at him. He didn't like it and punched him.)

Kenneth's colleagues also helped maul the victim.

The victim was badly injured because the suspects hit his face with a paddle. (GPL/TPT)
