HUNGRY tourists now have one more thing to add to their bucket list when visiting Bacolod City.

Mandalagan’s Kish & Mila Chicken Inasal outcooked eight other barangays in the first Barangay Inasal Cook-off held at the historic Manokan Country on Saturday, May 27.

Barangays Singcang and 29 prepared their own version of the Bacolod classic, which garnered then the second and third places, respectively.

The cook-off was part of the first Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival over the weekend that showcased the mouthwatering flavors of world-renowned local delicacies and highlights the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the city.

The three-day food fest was held in three major locations--The Upper East, Manokan Country, and North Capitol Road--to cater to multiple markets.

The festival kicked off at North Capitol Road with a beer tasting and pairing with the chicken inasal renditions of local guest chefs on Friday.

The festivities capped off with Bacolod City’s attempt at the longest chicken inasal grilling station.

About 1,600 grilled chicken meals were also served to non-profit organizations including the St. Vincent Home, Bacolod Boys Home, Bacolod Girls Home, Social Development Center, Senior Citizens, among others.
