THE Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Philippine team, bagged the silver spot in the just-concluded Co-ed Slo-pitch Softball Asia Cup in Pattaya, Thailand.

After their triumph yesterday over the host country with an impressive 31-11 score, the PH team was humbled by the much stronger Chinese-Taipei Team, 8-2, who took home the gold.

Despite the outcome, the PH team secured for themselves a slot for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Co-ed Slow Pitch World Cup scheduled to take place this year.

Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (Asaphil), congratulated the team: “We are so proud of their accomplishment. Their second spot finish is a testament of their hard work and dedication to the sport. We shall continue to support them until and beyond the World Cup.”

Coach Ana Maria Santiago, meantime, assured that they will continue to train hard and go for the gold in the World Cup. (PR)
