CSF cited for programs on women, children

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Monday recognized the City Government of San Fernando for getting high marks on programs for women and children's protection.

The certificates of recognition were for the city’s high marks on its 'Ideal Functionality' in which the city's Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children was rated 105 percent during the functionality assessment in 2022.

The other citation was given to the city's Local Council for the Protection of Children which received a grade of 94.8 percent during the functionality audit last year.

During the simple recognition rites at Heroes Hall, Mayor Vilma Caluag expressed gratitude to the DILG and the two committees for their work to protect women and children against any form of abuse.

Another group vowed to continue its mandate of rescuing street children and mendicants in the city.

On May 22, 23, and 25, the city's Anti-Mendicancy Taskforce visited rescued street children and mendicants referred to the Neglected Children in Street Situations at the Baptist Church in Pandacaqui, Mexico.

The rescue and cessation efforts were conducted across the city, within the City Market Plaza and at Paskuhan Village as in compliance to the anti-mendicancy law and help mendicants and street children through the city government’s programs.
