Bacolod recognizes key players of Chicken Inasal industry

THE City Government of Bacolod along with partners in the private sector succeeded in staging the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival on May 26-28 in different venues such as at SM City Bacolod Mall and Megaworld's Upper East.

The key players in the Chicken inasal enterprise were recognized for taking part in sustaining Bacolod’s image of having the best grilled Chicken inasal for both domestic and foreign tourists.

They normally associate the city in such a way insofar as grilled dish is concerned.

Although there are many cuisines and delicacies that Bacolod is known for, the grilled Chicken Inasal plays one of the dominant dishes that is best eaten either as a viand or a sumsuman or pulutan for beer drinkers.

On May 27, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez led in the recognition of some Bacolodnons who engaged in the grilled Chicken Inasal enterprise form the longest time including those social media influencers.

The winners for the Coast-to-Coast Chicken Deli and JTs Manukan where Yuhom writer CNC, who serves as the incoming Assistant Governor, representing incoming Rotary International District 3850 Governor Maria Ester Espina, presented the award to multi-awarded actor Joel Torre as the owner of JT's Manukan.

The Pioneer awardees we're Bernadette Posadas (Bernadette’s); Neda Velez (Velez) and Francisco Bolonia of Nena’s 1.

The Local Choice awardee was Nena’s Rose.

The Tourists Choice awardee was Aida’s; the Bacolod Chicken House was the Family’s Choice awardee, the Vloggers Choice was Aida’s and the Inasal sang Masa (BCD PIO award) was Galpad’s Inasal.

Terence Mitchao was named champion in the Chicken Inasal Reels contest, followed by Bright Peñaroyo as first runner up and 2M Journey as second runner up.

For the Chicken Inasal Vlog contest, Xhieng Macalalag was named champion, Tia Lacson was first runner up and Uaekabayan Souq was second runner up.

Mayor Benitez said, “I would like to give a big congratulations greeting to all the winners of our Inasal Awards last May 27, at SM City Bacolod. Our Chicken Inasal celebrates the culinary heritage of Bacolod. preserving traditional cooking techniques and flavors while encouraging cultural appreciation. You have all been a big part of this festival that helps boost our local tourism, showcasing the city's culture, hospitality, and cuisine to visitors from all over. Salamat kag Congratulations sa inyo tanan!”

Furthermore, Bacolod City Councilors Celia Flor and Pao Sy were also present during the awards night.
