BACOLOD City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has designated Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as acting mayor from January 3 to 6.
Secretary to the Mayor Karol Joseph Chiu said Tuesday, January 3, that Benitez travelled to China with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Our President has requested our mayor to go with him in China for an investors forum,” he said.
Last year, Benitez was also part of Marcos’ trip in the United States, Chiu said.
In lieu of Familiaran, Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson will temporarily sit as vice mayor until January 6.
Chui disclosed that the travel of Benitez with the president would also bring development in Bacolod City in terms of the implementation of projects and programs for the city.*
