Man nabbed in Camotes following Cordova home burglary

A 31-YEAR-OLD man landed in jail after breaking into a home in a subdivision in Cordova town, Mactan Island and stealing valuables.

The suspect, identified as Jun Arnel Togado Flores alias Juros, was apprehended by the police in a follow-up operation at his home in Barangay Himensulan, San Francisco town, Camotes Island around 11:30 a.m., several hours after he committed the crime at dawn on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Bobby Abraham Borbajo Hatague, 38, the owner of the residence, reported the crime to the Cordova Police Station, according to Police Major Michael Gingoyon, who is also the station's chief.

According to Hatague, the suspect allegedly stole a pair of shoes worth P4,000, P1,400 in cash, and a Honda Click motorcycle.

The culprit was captured on CCTV inside the residence and was recognized by the Cordova police who were conducting an investigation.

The police then went to Purok Dubai, Sitio Sudtonggan, Barangay Basak, Lapu-

Lapu City, where Flores was temporarily residing, but the latter was no longer there when they arrived, and somebody informed them that the suspect had already left for Camotes.

The Cordova police immediately coordinated with the San Francisco police, who then arrested the suspect at his home.

The motorcycle was recovered from Flores, who will be facing charges for robbery and kidnapping. (AYB, TPT)
