DAR to release 450 land titles to Tinang claimants

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said on Tuesday that a total of 450 land titles will be released to 450 farmers covering around 200 hectares of land in Hacienda Tinang, Concepcion, Tarlac.

Secretary Conrado Estrella III said the land ownership cases of Hacienda Tinang in the town which ran for less than three decades, has been finally resolved after multiple dialogues.

“I would like to inform everybody, most especially the public, of a historic accomplishment. This is about the Tinang Estate that has been going on for years," he said.

Estrella added that a decision has been made and the DAR will issue a writ of execution.

“Maybe in a matter of two weeks we will be able to distribute the land titles here, so there will be no trouble. We will be able to forge peace and prosperity with our farmers,” he said.

Estrella said President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has been very clear on his directive to address all pending agrarian reform cases as soon as possible, as he believes that justice delayed is justice denied.

He said that they are working on the resolution of other land dispute cases from three up to 20 years ago and still pending.

This, after the Department of Budget and Management has allowed their Scrap and Build Program, allowing DAR to create 64 positions for Attorney IV with the intent of being able to catch up with the backlog cases, mostly from previous administrations.
