AN estimated P4.5 million worth of suspected drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations by operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas in Bacolod City on May 31 and June 1.

The operation also led to the arrest of Malcomb Marshall, 24, a resident of Purok Langis, Barangay Banago; Jojo Segovia, 21, of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2: and Lijun Tayona, 35, of Barangay Pahanocoy, all in Bacolod City.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) records showed that Marshall was arrested by operatives of CDEU after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer at Purok Langis, Barangay Banago at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1.

Police recovered from Marshall's possession 20 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 262 grams with estimated market value of P1,781,600, the P1,000 marked money, a sling bag, and P200 in cash.

Segovia and Tayona were also arrested by operatives of RPDEU at Burgos Street, Barangay 10 at about 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, May 31.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 42 plastic sachets and two knot tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing 400 grams with estimated market value of P2, 720,000, the P100,000 marked money, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, and Honda motorcycle.

The police said Marshall and Segovia were identified as high value individuals in Bacolod City, while Tayona was also identified as street level individual.

They were all under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
