Girl seeks police help after pa ‘molests’ her

AN 18-year-old girl sought the assistance of Tuburan police after she was allegedly molested by her father.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Salvacion, chief of Tuburan Police Station, said the victim went to their station on May 28 or two days after her father reportedly tried to rape her again but failed when their visitors arrived.

Salvacion claimed that during examination at the Pink Room of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, the victim, named only as Mariel (not her real name), was found to have been raped.

It was learned that the first rape event happened in November of last year, while the second one happened in December.

The third attempt, which took place in May, was unsuccessful.

Salvacion stated they are worried that the victim may choose not to file a lawsuit upon the request of her parents.

“Nabalaka ta kay mga igsoon man gud ani pulos mga babaye mao nga among gipasusi sa among WCPD (Women and Children’s Protection Desk) kon unsa gyud ang desisyon niini sa pagpasaka ug kaso,” Salvacion said.

(We are worried because her siblings are all women, that’s why we ordered the WCPD (Women and Children's Protection Desk) to check about their decision to file a complaint).

Police withheld the identity of the father to protect the dignity of the victim. (BBT, TPT)
