Moalboal women’s team eyes 4th title

AFTER winning three titles in its last four tournaments, the Moalboal women’s volleyball team will gun for title no. 4 in Carcar City.

Moalboal, which won the Taytay Open, Malabuyoc Open and the Lambug Open, will be competing against 20 teams in the 1st Lorena Mae Tabora Carcar Open, including squads from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu Institute of Technology and Southwestern University-Phinma.

Led by coach Dexter Tapales and team captain Crisha Omagac, the squad is hopeful of another finals stint in the tournament.

The team, which also finished second in the Basdiot Open, recently paid a courtesy call on Moalboal Mayor Inocentes Cabaron, who has tapped the team to lead his summer sports program set to start next month.

The members of the team are Ivony Love Templado, Coleen Glover, Juliana Gabales, Jessa Gabunada, Jinelyn Nocos, Jay Ann Tapales, Jasmine Omagac, Jilyn Rivera, Aronez Nerona, Jishin Omagac, Christine Rebano, Alliana Tangkay, Rhaj Tarongoy, and Shellce Dela Rita. (ML)
