5 arrested, drug den dismantled in Lanao Sur town

LAWMEN arrested five suspects as they dismantled a drug den in an ant-drug operation in the province of Lanao del Sur, the police reported Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Aside from illegal drugs and paraphernalia, they also seized from the drug den a firearm with ammunition and explosives.

Police Colonel Robert Daculan, Lanao del Sur police director, identified the arrested suspects as Sadat Pangcoga, Abolkair Pangcoga, Michael Rambangon, Khalil Bangkero and Saif Pangcoga.

The suspects were arrested in an anti-drug operation that resulted to the dismantling of a drug den around 3:05 p.m. Saturday, June 3, in Pagalamatan village, Saguiran, Lanao del Sur.

Seized from the drug den were some 65 grams of suspected shabu worth P422,000, a caliber .38 revolver with four ammunition, a fragmentation grenade, a 40-millimeter ammunition, buy-bust money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Daculan said the arrested suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them while the seized pieces of evidence were deposited at the police provincial office.

The anti-drug operation was launched by a joint team of policemen, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and troops from the 55th Infantry Battalion. (SunStar Zamboanga)
