APALIT --- Mayor Oscar "Jun" Tetangco Jr. has appealed to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to immediately repair the dilapidated portion of the MacArthur Highway or Manila North Road (MNR) in Barangay Sampaloc here.
The mayor relayed his concern to the agency to prevent accidents and ease the travel of motorists.
The local government of Apalit on Sunday morning deployed its equipment and personnel to repair the ruined road of the national highway here.
Tetangco said they took the initiative to repair the road to ensure the safety and convenience of motorists.
The rehabilitation and maintenance of national roads are under the mandate of DPWH.
DPWH has been upgrading the Apalit portion of McArthur Highway but did not reach the said section yet.
Scores of netizens earlier complained about pot holes on the road in what they described as moon craters.
