POLICE have identified the gunman in the killing of a radio commentator in Oriental Mindoro last week.
In a press conference in Camp Crame on Monday, June 5, 2023, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr. said murder charges are now ready for filing against the suspect in the killing of Cresenciano Bunduquin.
“Ready for filing (na ang kaso). Identified na din ang suspect (The suspect has been identified), and we will give its specifics, especially names, once we are able to file a case,” he said.
“Ang assessment naman, I was assured by the regional director naman that it is a solid and strong case and fruitful naman ang investigation na ito,” he added.
Bunduquin, 50, a radio host at dwXR 101.7 Kalahi FM, was gunned down on the early dawn of May 31 in front of a sari-sari store along C5 road in Barangay Sta. Isabel.
The gunman’s cohort, the driver of the motorcycle, died due to head injuries he sustained after the victim’s son chased them, hitting their motorcycle. (SunStar Philippines)
