ONE proof that visual artists abound in the city is last June 3, 2023s opening of Kita-Kita 2, the sequel to last years Kita-Kita by the Fine Arts Program of the University of Mindanao (UM) at the Art Resource Center Library and Gallery La Herencia along F. Torres Street in Davao City. More than a hundred artworks by 79 young artists from both the academe and non-academe are on exhibit until June 25, 2023.

Art groups participating in Kita-Kita 2 are the Palikata Art Group, UMBRA Art Society, Tesori Rosaries, Pintanao, and La Herencia.

Its a merry mix of beauty, angst, anger, sorrow, and playfulness expressed in traditional fine arts, digital art, sculpture, and contemporary approaches.

Leonardo C. Comargo Jr. of the UM College of Architecture and Fine Arts and Design, who is the Palikata president, explained that the theme of the exhibit is construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction, in an attempt to invite the audience to journey with the artists into the depths of their works to fully appreciate the works on display.

Gracing the event were Cafaed Dean Archt. Iluminado Quinto Jr., Fine Arts and Design program head Rogelito Cayas Jr., Emmanuel Marx Cuizon, and Angelo Florante Valente along with visual artist Dadai Joaquin and Dinky Munda.
