CHOCOLATE lovers were treated to an entire weekend of great eats as SM CDO Downtown brought together the best cacao growers and processors in Northern Mindanao through the Cacao Mindanao Chocolate Fair, which was launched Friday, June 2, 2023, at the mall's fifth floor.
The Chocolate Fair is a collaborative event by SM and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to give avenue to cacao producers and local chocolatiers in Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro to showcase their locally-produced chocolates and expand the community's interest in local products.
As a marketing platform, the event is also seen to ultimately fuel the region's cacao trade and industry and motivate chocolate producers to improve their production and make quality products.
Among the local cacao growers and processors from Northern Mindanao who showcased their products were Sabroso, Jodaca Farms, Pagmaya Chocolate and Mang Kiko's Cacao.
