Buntod Campbar: San Fernando’s Hidden Gem

Getting lost in nature is like hitting the reset button for our soul. Immersing oneself outdoors can be a highly effective way to unwind and recharge. The appealing and elevated landscape of San Fernando is the much-needed relief we have longed for.

Buntod Campbar, located in Sitio Kaandany, Brgy. Tanañas, offers a beautiful scene of the stunning mountain ridges of San Fernando. The panoramic view of the horizon, the green-covered distance, and the large masses of clouds suspended over the mountains form a calming depiction of the natural environment.

“This area is a true gem of San Fernando. We take great pride in our tourism, and this particular spot is a natural resource that I am passionate about. When I joined Binibining San Fernando, I made it my mission to advocate for environmental protection in developing tourist destinations,” shared Binibining San Fernando Tourism 2023 Evwina Basan.

“I believe that places like this offer a unique opportunity for people to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the city’s business. This is not only beneficial for the people of San Fernando, but also for those who will visit our city to experience its natural beauty.”

Rebuilt

Buntod Campbar is owned by Olivia Canillo Generalao and family. Amid the circumstances of the pandemic, an initiative was undertaken by the owner. Generalao takes it upon herself to compensate nearby residents for their efforts in beautifying the area. This involved the installation of stairs and a rest house, which enhanced the community’s overall aesthetic appeal.

“After the damage caused by typhoon Odette in 2021, we did not expect this place to be rebuilt due to the severe damage it suffered,” shared Beverly Jane Generalao-Siarot, daughter of the owner.

As a result of the damage that Odette caused, the Generalao family started from scratch to restore the place’s magnificence. Generalao explained that as a result, Buntod Campbar has been able to attract visitors even from all across the island of Luzon, including those from the provinces of Batangas and Cagayan.
