THE Department of Agriculture (DA)-Northern Mindanao has provided P29 million worth of farm inputs to the City Government of Cagayan de Oro during the city hall flag raising ceremony on Monday, June 5, 2023.
According to the agency, the agri-inputs are to cushion the impact on farmers of the rising cost of farm inputs.
The agri-inputs handed over by DA-Northern Mindanao consist of 3,200 bags of hybrid yellow corn seeds, P9.6 million worth of inorganic fertilizer, and 4,500 packets of Bio-N fertilizer.
With these provisions, the DA-Northern Mindanao stated that it is optimistic that the productivity, livelihood and income of farmers will scale up, adding that these will help in the upliftment of agricultural farmer-producers from poverty.
Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the agriculture department for helping the local farmers of the city.
Present during the turnover were DA Regional Executive Director Carlene Collado, the 20th City Council, and DA consultant Joel Rudinas.
