Japanese driver dies after crashing into flyover’s concrete railing

A JAPANESE national died after his vehicle hit the concrete railing of a flyover in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City past 1 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Police Staff Sergeant Ronnel Cabansay, traffic investigator of Mambaling Police Station 11, identified the fatality as Aochi Yasuo, a resident of New Town Estate in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

Based on the investigation, Yasuo was driving a Nissan Juke going to the southern part of Cebu City when he suddenly crashed into the concrete railing, resulting in his death.

The Mambaling police are still determining the exact cause of the incident.

Major Jonathan Bethoven Taneo, head of Mambaling Police Station, said they had already worked with the Japanese Consulate in Cebu City to inform the victim's relatives there. (BBT/TPT)
