Former 3 Termer Mayor of Magalang

Deeply concerned with her plight and predicament of the constituents, Mayor Malu P. Lacson spearheaded a meaningful probe to address the mounting complaints of Pelco 1 consumers. It was held at the office of the Local Chief Executive last May 27, 2023.

Heeding the call of the Mayor, Pelco 1 showed up in full force, except for the Pelco 1 Director who, according to his staff had a previous appointment that he must attend to. This was a flimsy reason. Is in't? Yours truly had the opportunity to attend the forum because I was invited by the office of the Mayor.

The complaining. Pelco 1 consumers who came from the different sectors of the community were also there with the fighting mood ready to voice out their outrage against the Pelco 1 due to unjust and inexplicable increase in their electric bills.

I think the Pelco 1 consumers have all the reasons to express their feeling of anger towards Pelco 1 because they believe without their precious votes the Pelco 1 Director may not be in that pedestal. So, it is presumed that their interests and other prerogatives must be protected.

But, it seems Pelco 1 appears evasived on this important issue, instead of going out of its way to give efficient service for the Pelco 1 consumers, it is the other way around. These were the various reactions I gathered from the Pelco 1 consumers who attended the forum which dealt mostly on the excessive increase in their electric bills. Some complained that their electric bills went up by 100%, 200% and more than that.

This is apparently beyond expectation, they added. On top of the above observations let me just cite a few questions from those who were not able to attend the forum. They sent their inquiries through social media in Capampangan and in Tagalog.

I myself had a dismaying moment from Pelco 1.

I was fully engrossed watching my favorite sports on TV when all of sudden without notice power interruption occurred. I tried to get in touch with the Pelco 1 office but sad to say all my efforts were in vain. So far nothing concrete was met during the forum, except the assurance from the Mayor to provide the reading cards for the Pelco 1 consumers.

I suggest to schedule another forum to give chance for those who were not able to attend and be enlightened on the circumstances behind their prevailing problems.
