Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12: A sleek mid-range phone

RELIABILITY is one of the main things we look into when choosing a smartphone. We want a phone that has strong performance, ample storage, and can charge fast.

Another aspect we look into is the phone's versatility. We ask ourselves, can I use this for leisure? This means that we see to it that the phone also fits our lifestyle. We tend to check the camera and its other lifestyle features on top of its performance.

Recently, Xiaomi introduced its Redmi Note 12 to the Philippine market. Their new mid-range features a sleek design and is equipped with technology that makes the phone versatile and reliable for its users.

DISPLAY and DESIGN

The first thing I noticed about the Redmi Note 12 is the sleek design. The Onyx Gray color of the smartphone just gives it a very classy vibe. I also love how the smartphone feels on the palm of my hand in terms of its weight and size.

The phone features a 6.67" FHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with up to 120Hz refresh rate

and a DCI-P3 wide color gamut. This allows you to experience a crisp and crystal-clear display. Whether I am watching on a streaming platform or playing games, I love how the color pops. Likewise, scrolling through the phone was smooth.

PERFORMANCE

Overall, using the Redmi Note 12 was a smooth experience. I was able to go through apps and multitask seamlessly. This makes the phone ideal for many professionals who need to regularly switch between apps.

Likewise, when I played some of the games, everything went smoothly, and rarely did I experience any lags.

The seamless experience I had was thanks to the phone being powered by Snapdragon® 685. It is also equipped with an Octa-core CPU of up to 2.8GHz and a RAM of 6GB.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 variant I am using is 6GB+128GB. With 128GB of storage, I am also able to install my favorite apps and store numerous photos and videos.

One feature that I truly love about this smartphone is its long battery life and fast charging.

With a 5000mAh (typ) long-lasting battery, I seldom worry about the phone running low. For someone who does not use his phone for games, there is still enough battery left to last me until the following morning.

The 33W fast charging is also very helpful as I am someone who is always on the go. Based on my observations, the phone is nearly fully charged in around 40 to 30 minutes. If I charge for 15 minutes, the battery is at times half-full or more than half already.

CAMERA

Another neat feature that I liked about the Redmi Note 12 is its camera.

The smartphone is equipped with a 50MP AI triple camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 13MP front camera. This allowed me to take clear photos in any situation.

As for the photos, the quality is quite good too. I love how the photos were not over-saturated. The selfie camera is good too and better than most phones in this category.

The phone also comes with useful features -- Night mode and Portrait mode. The night mode works great not only in the evening but in some low-light settings as well. The portrait mode, I love to use for some food photos.

BOTTOMLINE

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 is a value-for-money mid-range phone that has been equipped with the best technology that is being offered in its category.

Beyond its stylish design, the phone performs well allowing you to get things done, multitask on the phone, and enjoy some entertainment.

This is a great phone for those who are working on the go. Not only it is budget-friendly, but its features and specs make it a great companion on your side.

Another great thing about the Redmi Note 12 is, just like any other Xiaomi phone, you can seamlessly connect it with other Xiaomi products like the Redmi Buds and the Xiami Mi Smart Band.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 is now available nationwide. RJL
