Number of flooded barangays reach 80

SASMUAN— Rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) flooded 80 barangays here, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) said.

Several flood-prone municipalities have reported flooding in their respective areas.

These include five barangays San Isidro, Santa Catalina, San Francisco 1st, Santa Rita, and Santa Rosario in Minalin town.

Hightide has also aggravated the flooding situation in 15 barangays of Masantol and 14 barangays in Macabebe are also flooded since Sunday.

Flooding were also recorded in barangay San Agustin in Candaba town.

Nine coastal barangays in Lubao town have been flooded since Tuesday.

Heavy rains also caused flooding in seven barangays of Santo Tomas and eight barangays in Apalit town.

Flooding had also been reported in 14 low-lying barangays of Minalin and seven in the City of San Fernando.

The flooding situation has already affected some 32, 364 families in Apalit, Masantol, and Macabebe.

At least 67 families are currently in five evacuation centers in Masantol and Macabebe town.

A section of the Pasig Potrero Bridge inside the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway was temporarily closed to traffic pending ongoing safety inspection due to heavy rains.
