Pampanga farmers get funding from Kadiwa

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Several farmer cooperatives and associations received funding assistance from the Enhanced KADIWA program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) during Monday’s visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the provincial capitol of Pampanga.

Enhanced KADIWA ni Ani at Kita Financial Grant Assistance Program aims to enhance the capacities of farmers and fishermen organizations to become reliable food suppliers to consumers and for community based-organizations to operate Kadiwa retail stores.

The Santa Ana Agricultural Multipurpose Cooperative of Sta. Ana received projects worth P6.8 million, including the delivery vehicle, trading capital, hauling vehicle, and warehouse renovation.

The Madasig Farmers Association Inc. of Candaba received funding for the trading capital and a hauling truck worth P4.2 million.

Trading capital and a hauling truck worth P2.2 million were accepted by Vizal Sto. Niño Rice and Livestock Farmers Association, also from Candaba town.

The provincial government of Pampanga received projects for the establishment of a Rice Processing Complex, Rice Processing System III, four units of Four-wheel Drive Tractors, and four units of Rice Precision Seeder with a total cost of P134.2 million.

The project is under the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) and the DA Rice Program.
