THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro is getting ready for its grandest celebration of the year, setting the launch date of the Higalaay Festival on August 1, 2023.
The launching event will begin around 4 p.m. at the Rio de Oro Boulevard.
"Ang atoang venue ana is ang Rio de Oro Boulevard. We usually do this sa mga malls but kailangan na gyud... para makita gyud sa tanan," said Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, who chairs the Tourism Committee.
"Ibutang gyud nato siya somewhere in the public so that everyone can see and enjoy," he added.
Pascual said the public can expect firework displays, food stalls and live band music performances at the fiesta launching.
They are also eyeing a rave party for the Higalaay Festival.
This year's Higalaay Festival features the following core events:
* Premier Volleyball League on August 19
* International Dragon Boat Competition on August 19 to 20
* Fiesta sa Barrio on August 23
* P.E. Rhythmic on August 25
* Miss Cagayan de Oro 2023 Coronation Night on August 26
* Higalaay Float and Parade on August 27
* Higalaay Street Dance Competition on August 27
* Religious Procession on August 28
* Fluvial Procession on August 28
