THE Department of Health (DOH) announced that the province of Zamboanga Sibugay will have an additional Super Health Center (SHC) in the coming months.
Dr. Joshua Brillantes, DOH regional director, said Thursday, July 20, that the SHC will be constructed in the municipality of Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The SHC is a polyclinic type of health center that offers services like birthing facilities, dental services, and x-ray services, among others.
Brillantes said the project is under the agency’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) and is part of the governments initiative in ensuring that Filipinos wherever they may be will have access to quality services in the health facility nearest to them.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the SHC was held on Monday, July 17, which was attended by officials of DOH and from Zamboanga Sibugay including Olutanga Mayor Arthur Ruste.
Brillantes extended his felicitations to the officials and residents of Olutanga for their upcoming new health facility that would better serve the Sibugaynons.
Olutanga, which is subdivided into 19 villages, is a fourth-class municipality in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay with a population of 38,438 as of the 2020 census.
