Motambong si Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia sa State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Presidente Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa Hulyo 24, 2023.
Atol sa pakighinabi sa mga tigbalita niadtong Biyernes, Hulyo 21, 2023, gihimug-atan ni Garcia ang mga sakripisyo nga gihimo ni Marcos sa unang tuig sa iyang paglingkod isip pangulo sa nasod, aron masiguro nga makabangon ang Pilipinas gikan sa mga epekto sa pandemiya, labina sa ekonomiya.
Matod sa gobernador nga kon siya ang mohatag og assessment o grado sa performance sa Presidente, mahimo kini nga “unfair” o di makiangayon tungod kay wala siya mahibawo sa tanang mga problema nga giagian.
Bisan pa niini, nakadayeg si Garcia sa kalmado nga paagi sa Presidente sa pag-atubang sa nagkadaiyang mga hagit sa iyang administrasyon.
“..Be that as it may I would give him a very good score for having been able to face these challenges yet been able to maintain a calm and cool composure staying above the noise and just focusing on the goal,” matod ni Garcia.
Matod sa gobernador usa sa mga gihimo ni Marcos nga nakaayo sa nasod mao ang pagpaila sa Pilipinas ngadto sa ubang mga nasod, ilabi na sa natad sa turismo, negusyo ug patigayon, labina sa mga biyahe niini sa abroad.
“... I tell you, there are people, critics saying he’s always travelling. It’s no joke to travel. Your body clock is challenging..But because he has done this and he has made our presence known internationally, for me that was a sacrifice. Now there is really so much interest in the Philippines because these trips abroad, inviting all the business community to come, arriving at international agreements for trade industry, business and commerce,” matod ni Garcia.
Nagtuo siya nga daghan ang wala makasabot sa pagbiyahe sa Presidente ngadto sa laing mga nasod, apan malaumon siya sa maayong resulta sa mga sakripisyo nga gihimo niini.
“You can see in the next few months and few years the benefits will now start coming in and we will now be reaping the sacrifice that the President has been doing,” dugang niya.
