Penro NegOcc announces contests for Northern Negros Natual Park 18th year

THE DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Negros Occidental recently announced the contests individuals and local government units can participate in celebration of the 18th anniversary of the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP) on August 13.

The contests are open to residents of the Cities of Talisay, Silay, Victorias, Cadiz, Sagay, San Carlos and the Municipalities of Don Salvador Benedicto, Murcia, E.B. Magalona, Toboso and Calatrava in Negros Occidental.

The submission of entries and contest duration will be from July 24 to August 3 in the contestant’s respective local Tourism Office.

The winners will be awarded during the celebration of the 18th NNNP Day 2023 at Barangay Patag in Silay City on August 15.

NNNP is also searching for a “lively, appealing and creative hymn that will highlight the important role of the Northern Negros Natural Park to all Negrosanon.”

The contest in open to amateurs and professional composers.

Not exceeding four minutes, the composition can either be in English, Hiligaynon, or both.

The LGUs shall choose one entry to endorse for the competition.

The winner will receive a P20,000 cash prize and trophy, while the non-winning entries from the top five will be given each a consolation of P5,000 cash prize and a certificate.

Logo design

Amateurs and professionals in graphic design are invited to join the (NNNP) logo design contest.

The logo must be inspired by the the park’s vision: “NNNP, a paradise of high biodiversity and balanced ecosystems where man communes in harmony with nature, under the stewardship of empowered and self-sufficient communities.”

The participating local government units shall screen the submitted graphic logo of the contestant.

Each LGU shall endorse three logos of their choice to enter in the province-wide competition.

The winning entry will receive a P10,000 cash prize and certificate. Meanwhile, the non-winning entries from the top five will also ach receive a P3,000 consolation prize and a certificate.

Meanwhile, upland runners are also invited to join the NNNP inaugural mountain run.
