Egay leaves 124 villages in Pampanga flooded

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Continuous rains brought about by Typhoon Egay over the past few days has caused flooding to 124 barangays in Pampanga, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported yesterday noon.

The affected towns include Macabebe (17 villages), Masantol (24 villages), Minalin (8 villages), San Simon (6 villages), Sto. Tomas (3 villages), and Apalit (7 villages).

The municipalities of San Simon (6 barangays), Mexico (1 barangay), Candaba (11 barangays), San Luis (2 barangays), Sasmuan (12 barangays), Guagua (8 barangays), and Lubao (17 barangays) were also flooded.

The City of San Fernando was not also spared from flooding as eight of its villages were affected.

Major roads in the province were also flooded and remained impassable to light vehicles as of yesterday.

These flooded highways include Ipil-Ipil – Cambasi – Sta. Cruz road in Masantol; the Sumpung bridge in Sto. Tomas; and CDCP Barangay Sta. Monica and La Trevi Road, both going to North Luzon Expressway in San Simon town.
