THE CS4 pulled off a 62-54 win over Avantrac to capture the Architects+Engineers Basketball 6th Corporate Cup championship on July 29, 2023 at the Don Bosco Technical College–Cebu in Labangon, Cebu City.
John Bautista powered CS4—a team composed of Mechanical Engineers—to the victory with his 18 points, three rebounds, one assist, a steal, and a block. He was named the Finals and the Cup MVP.
CS4’s backcourt also proved pivotal in the title victory as Eric Pummer had 12 points, four boards, two assists and two steals, while Kyle Esbra had 10 markers.
Noriko Benedicto had 13 points to lead Avantrac while Romy Faunillan tallied 12.
Meanwhile, Paragsa nabbed third place honors with a dominant 100-50 win over Sinclair Paint. Six players scored in double-figures for Paragsa led by the 21 of Wesley Viejo and the 20 of Airland Tulda.
The tournament’s Mythical Five was composed of Paragsa’s Jett Latonio, CS4’s Bautista and Ed Macasling, Avantrac’s Faunillan and Sinclair’s Miguel Cenabre. (JNP)
