THE Sangguniang Panlungsod Office of San Carlos City, through the SP Community Assistance Reaching Everyone in the Spirit of Service (SP CARES) program, kicked off the 2023 Sports Fest on Tuesday, August 1, at the City Auditorium.

Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona said the activity is being held to strengthen and build strong work relationships among SP employees through various sports. He added that sporting events could exercise the mind and body, reduce stress and keep the body fit.

SP Member Carlos Manuel Valmayor shared that playing sports is enjoyable and increases the productivity of employees, boosts their morale, enhance the working environment, and empowers work and life balance. He also reminded everyone that a leader should have a sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie in the workplace to enjoy work.

SP Member JB Spring Bacurnay led the oath of sportsmanship, while Mayor Renato Gustilo was also there in support to said activity.

Moreover, the employees were divided into two teams, the Green and Maroon to play Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Football, and 3x3 Basketball.

Before the opening games, SP Members held their session, and participants joined the Zumba. (PR)
