MORE than P800,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized during the buy-bust operation that the police initiated as part of “Oplan Limpyo Talisay.”
The drug raid was conducted by Talisa policemen at 10:44 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Sitio Bahala, Barangay Lagtang that resulted in the arrest of Jornel Abellana Abapo alias Isyot, 36, an e-bike driver from Sitio Fatima, Barangay Lagtang, but currently residing in Sitio Litmon, Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.
Seized from the suspect were 23 packs of suspected shabu weighing 120 grams with a standard drug price of P816,000.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, the suspect can dispose 200 grams of shabu every week in his areas of operation, which include the neighboring town of Minglanilla.
The suspect reportedly got his supply of illegal drugs from his boss in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
Abapo was first detained in 2018 for a similar offense, and was freed from jail in 2022.(AYB, TPT)
