THE Davao City Library and Information Center (CLIC), on Wednesday, August 2, launched its new P7-million mobile library with a blessing ceremony at the Peopleu0019s Park.

The cityu0019s third mobile library bus currently holds around 2,000 book titles, arts and crafts supplies, board games, and educational movies.

CLIC Head Salome Enoc said that another bus for the mobile library program will give more people access to books and other learning materials.

Enoc said one of the three mobile libraries will now be exclusively used to visit public elementary schools. The other one will deliver emergency preparedness lectures to raise disaster risk awareness in grade school and high school students. At the same time, the new bus will exclusively cater to daycare centers in the city.

The mobile libraries, said Enoc, prioritize far-flung areas u001cto bridge the gapu001d of access between people in the city center and those in the cityu0019s rural areas.

Mayor Sebastian Duterte, Enoc and other public officials led Wednesdayu0019s ceremony. CIO
